MICHAEL COHN's practice has an emphasis in helping people with tax problems including resolving outstanding tax liabilities with the IRS and WDR, submitting Offers in Compromise and representation during an audit. He continues his civil rights practice in both housing and employment discrimination along with employment issues involving employment and separation agreements and wrongful termination. He also maintains his white collar criminal defense practice- in particular, tax related offenses, as well as representing clients who need to utilize the IRS voluntary disclosure system to avoid tax related criminal ramifications.
He has litigated civil tax controversies in federal court, the U.S. Tax Court and the Wisconsin Tax Appeals Commission. Atty. Cohn was selected a “Super Lawyer” by Milwaukee Magazine in 2007and received the Civil Libertarian of the Year Award from the Wisconsin ACLU in 2008.
